A letter, 1865 March, to Georgia Strother, Fruit Hill, S.C., from her sister in Petersburg, Va., describes the trip to Petersburg, Petersburg social life during the winter of 1865, visiting friends from South Carolina who were stationed there, seeing generals Lee, Longstreet, Hill, and Willcox at church, and bartering supplies and rations. There is also a typescript of an account of the Battle of the Crater, Petersburg, Va., 1864, as told by Capt. Featherstone of Company C., 9th Alabama infantry regiment, describing the actions of General Sanders. Also includes typescript of A chlid's recollections of the War.
